1 Day / 2 Dives at
Aliwal Shoal
2 dives off the world renowned Aliwal Shoal, rated one of
the top 10 dive sites in the world.
R900.00pp
You will be
collected from your hotel or guest house in Durban, and
transported in comfort to Umkomaas, Aliwal Shoal. You will
have an hour to kit up and listen to the briefing from the
divemaster, before boarding the boat. All dives are
accompanied by an experienced divemaster. You can choose to
have an instructor accompany your dive as your buddy for an
extra R100.00 if you have not dived for a long time and feel
you need the extra attention.
After your first dive, enjoy
a slap up breakfast before embarking on a second dive.
There are many varied dive sites on the shoal, which offer
some of the most unique diving worldwide. Some dives are
suitable only for advanced divers, such as wrecks and
cathedral, but there is definitely lots to please all.
Return to Durban in the later afternoon.
All divers will be
required to produce proof of certification.

Day 1
:
07h30 departure from Durban for Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game
Reserve. Enjoy a game drive in Umfolozi, with a picnic
lunch. We arrive at Hilltop Camp where you will have
the chance to freshen up before an early dinner. After
dinner, you will have the opportunity to look for unique
game sightings on a Night drive offered by Hilltop Camp.

Day 2
: An
early morning game drive is optional, before breakfast.
After breakfast, we enjoy a last game drive before
leaving the reserve for St Lucia. Enjoy a boat ride on
the St Lucia Estuary before lunch. Arrive at Umkomaas
in the early evening. Dinner will be en route, or at a
local restaurant.

3
:
Rise early for 2 dives on Aliwal Shoal, one of the top
10 dive sites in the world. Sightings can include
sharks, turtles, rays, dolphins, whales, an enormous
variety of fish, and eels. Experienced divemasters or
instructors always accompany the divers. (You have to
have a minimum of Open Water qualification - this can be
PADI, NAUI, CMAS, BSAC, etc). A full breakfast is
enjoyed between dives. Return to Durban in the
afternoon.

Day 3
:
After an early breakfast, head for Dumuzulu, a cultural
village, for a display of traditional zulu life,
customs, and tribal dancing. After Dumuzulu, head for
St Lucia, for a mouth-watering "catch of the day" lunch
(subject to availability), whilst overlooking the
tranquil St Lucia Estuary mouth. In the afternoon,
you'll be taken on a fascinating boat ride on the St
Lucia estuary, where there are many crocodiles, hippos,
and there is an amazing array of birdlife on display. We
then leave for Umkomaas, arriving in the early evening.
Dinner will be at a resturant in Durban or Amanzimtoti
en route.

Collection from Durban /
Durban Airport at a convenient time to all. Visit to
Natal Sharks Board, time permitting. Overnight at
Umkomaas at a local hotel or guesthouse.
Day 2
Enjoy two dives on the world
renowned Aliwal Shoal. Overnight at Umkomaas at a local
hotel or guesthouse. Umkomaas is a small and
friendly town with three decent restaurants and bars,
various take-aways, and small town shops where you can
while away a social afternoon.

Day 3
Enjoy 2 dives on Aliwal
Shoal. Enjoy a leisurely visit to CrocWorld, the
largest crocodile farm in South Africa en route to your
hotel. Overnight at Umkomaas at a local hotel or
guesthouse.

After an early morning dive,
we leave for Oribi Gorge on the South Coast, for an
afternoon in this pristine nature reserve. Enjoy 1
abseil down a 110m cliff with full training, and see
some amazing views. (For those who would like to have
more turns, budget R160.00 per extra abseil). Overnight
at a Lodge in Shelley Beach.

Day 5
Enjoy 2 Advanced dives on
Protea Banks, where it is possible to have sightings of
up to 100 sharks on a dive. In the afternoon, return to
Durban where you will be dropped off at your choice of
hotel.
